Calibration of Roughness Samples

Calibration is performed with a Form Taysurf Series 2 roughness gauge. Aside from the value of the Ra and Rz measurement parameters, the following information is indicated on the certificate:

• The type of sample envisaged by ISO 5436
• The type of reference filter applied
• The undersize strap
• Nominal radius of the feeler
• The number of measurements taken
• Standard deviation of the calibration sample

Measuring range:

• Ra = 0.01 - 10 µm
• Ry,Rz = 0.01 - 30 µm

Measurement uncertainty:

• 5% (Ra)
• 8% (Ry, Rz)

* Measurement uncertainty corresponds to a confidence interval of approx. 95%.
